# Fulfillment operations

Customers should never notice that two kinds of fulfillment run behind one store.

## Inputs
- The live or draft store with product SKUs.
- For batches: quantities on hand at the warehouse and supplier lead times. For POD: the connected provider and its shipping zones.

## Method
1. **Route by SKU.** Every store SKU maps to exactly one fulfillment path: a warehouse SKU (handmade, kits, custom) or a POD provider variant. Check the mapping both ways before launch; a SKU with no route blocks the launch.
2. **Shipping setup.** Zones, rates and delivery promises per path; made-to-order and personalized items get their own processing time. The store's shipping page matches what the team can actually do.
3. **Packaging.** Branded mailer, tag and thank-you card per the visual kit; insert rules for gifts and kits.
4. **Tracking.** Orders sync to the right partner, labels are created by that partner, tracking numbers flow back to the store and the customer. Allocating a label is not the same as handing the parcel to a carrier — track both.
5. **Stock and restock** (batches): 7-day and 28-day sales velocity, units on order, and a reorder point from supplier lead time; flag items with no sales or more than about four months of cover. No stockout date without enough history.
6. **Exceptions.** A short playbook for late orders, lost parcels, damage on arrival and address changes.

## Output (fulfillment setup)
- SKU routing table · shipping zones and promises · packaging spec · tracking flow · restock rules · exception playbook
- **Decisions for you:** approve the shipping promise and the packaging

## Guardrails
- Never promise delivery dates the partners have not confirmed.
- Purchase orders, labels and refunds are created by people on the team with the creator's approval, not by the agent alone.
